Awards & Recognition for Current Students

 

Each year, St. Jerome's University recognizes current and graduating students for their contribution to the University, as well as the greater community.

D.R. Letson Community Service Award

Nomination Process: In order for a student to be considered for a D.R. Letson Community Service Award, a complete nomination form must be received by February 16, 2024.

 

Award Description and Eligibility: Each year the St. Jerome's University Alumni Association recognizes a St. Jerome's registered student or St. Jerome's University resident for their commitment to and involvement in service to the community beyond our campus.

  • Awarded annually by the St. Jerome's University Alumni Association to an undergraduate student in any year of study.
  • Recognizes a student for their involvement in voluntary community service beyond the St. Jerome’s/Waterloo campus. Voluntary community service might include working with vulnerable and/or underserved populations.  Such service can occur in a student's home town or in the local K-W community.

 

D.R. Letson Community Contributions Award Nomination Form

Awards: This is the nomination form for the D.R. Letson Community Contributions Award.  

Eligibility: Each year the St. Jerome's University Alumni Association recognizes a St. Jerome's registered student or SJU resident for his or her involvement in voluntary community service beyond our campus.

Voluntary community service might include working with poor, homeless, or disabled individuals; seniors; or groups like Big Sisters/Brothers, the House of Friendship, or the Rotary Centre.  Such service can occur in a student's home town or in the local K-W community.

Application Deadline: The Nomination Form must be submitted by February 27, 2023.

Completing the Nomination Form:

  • Self-nominations will NOT be accepted.
  • The Nomination Form must be fully completed and submitted by February 27, 2023.

Todd Earl Spirit Award

Nomination Process: In order for a student to be considered for a Todd Earl Spirit Award, a complete nomination form must be received by February 16, 2024.

 

Award Description and Eligibility: The Todd Earl Spirit Award is awarded to a first-year student who has exhibited exceptional enthusiasm and commitment through her/his passionate engagement in student life at St. Jerome's University.

  • Awarded to a first-year undergraduate student in their 1B term.
  •  Exhibited exceptional enthusiasm and commitment through her/his passionate engagement in student life at St. Jerome’s University.

Todd Earl Spirit Award Nomination Form

Awards: This is the nomination form for the Todd Early Spirit Award.
Eligibility: Candidate must be in his or her first year.
Application Deadline: The Nomination Form must be submitted by February 27, 2023
Completing the Nomination Form:

  1. Anyone may nominate a first year student
  2. Self-nominations will NOT be accepted
  3. The Nomination Form must be fully completed and submitted by February 27, 2023

SJU Student's Union Distinguished Leader Award

The Student's Union Distinguished Leader Award seeks to recognize the outstanding leadership of any applicant within the St. Jerome's community. The recipient of this award will:

 

  • Be a co-registered St. Jerome's University undergraduate student;
  • Be in good academic standing, based on the standings generated through Quest;
  • Be able to provide examples, at least one within the St. Jerome's community, of leadership experiences.

 

Application Process:

SJU Student's Union Local Initiative Award

The Student's Union Local Initiative Award seeks to recognize an applicant within the St. Jerome's community who has contributed significantly to their local community over the past year. The recipient of this award will: 

 

  • Be a co-registered St. Jerome's University undergraduate student;
  • Be in good academic standing, based on the standings generated through Quest.

 

Application Process:
