WELCOME and thank you for your interest in the upcoming Waterloo-Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR) program being offered in person on Saturday June 1, 2024 & Sunday June 2, 2024. This 15-hour SAR will be an interesting and intensive program that will start Saturday at 8 a.m. and conclude Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
The program Instructor and Coordinator Carm De Santis will team up with a group of highly skilled facilitators who will assist with small and large group process-oriented discussions on a variety of topics that include:
- Sexuality and aging
- Spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identities
- BDSM/Kink
- Sexuality and disability
- Self- pleasuring/masturbation
- Consensual non-monogamy
This SAR is being coordinated by the department of Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies at St. Jerome’s University (SJU) and will take place in the SJU Academic Centre. Further details will be sent to registered participants before the SAR.
SJU is located at 290 Westmount Road N. Waterloo, ON, N2L 3G3.
Registration
Your registration includes breakfasts, snacks, lunches, and dinner (Saturday) as well as applicable materials.
Space is limited to 48 participants. Allocation will be managed on a first-come, first-registered basis.
Rates for this in person interactive SAR are:

Waitlist: Registrations received after the SAR is filled will be placed on a waitlist and you will be contacted if a space becomes available.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: You may cancel your registration up to and including April 30th, 2024. A $150 fee will be applied to manage the refund. After May 1st, 2024 there will be NO refunds, but we will allow you to send another person in your place. We kindly ask that you email the SAR Instructor and Coordinator, Carm De Santis (carm.desantis@uwaterloo.ca) to let her know about any changes regarding registration and refunds.
Payment Instructions: You must pay your SAR registration fee in full at the time you register to reserve your spot. At this time, we are only able to accept payments via E-transfer to finance@sju.ca. You must include your full name and “SAR 2024” in the memo section so our finance department can track payments. Payments for accommodation at the SJU Residence (see "SJU Residence" below for rates) should be sent in a separate transaction from the registration payment.

Overnight Accommodations
Overnight accommodations are in addition to cost of the SAR program. Below are three different options (you are also welcome to find your own preferred accommodations):
St. Jerome’s University (SJU) Residence
We are pleased to offer space in our residence adjacent to the academic building where the SAR will be held. The rooms are in our traditional-style residence buildings and are single and double-occupancy options. Shared, single-gender, washrooms and shower facilities are available on each floor.

Nightly, per-person, accommodation rates, including HST and parking, are:
Single room occupancy - $90
Double occupancy - $60
- You can select your room preference in the registration form.
- Payment for your accommodations is payable upon registration (and no later than May 1, 2024). Please pay SEPARATELY from your SAR Registration via Etransfer to finance@sju.ca
- Please include in the memo line your name and the note “SJU SAR conference accommodation”
Delta Hotel Waterloo (approximately 1 km from SJU)
A block of rooms are reserved at the Delta from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2 for $215 per night. The deadline to book to guarantee the preferred rate is Thursday, April 18.
