The Blanket Exercise is a powerful learning experience which shares the historic and contemporary relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. In this participatory workshop, participants are led through 500 years of history, taking on the roles of Indigenous peoples while standing on blankets which represent the land. The Blanket Exercise will be facilitated by staff members from the Waterloo Aboriginal Education Centre and will be followed by a debrief discussion.
This event is free and open to all members of the university community and broader community.
There are limited spots available, so please register for this event. Or contact Erika Toffelmire for more information: erika.toffelmire@uwaterloo.ca.
