Power and Peril: The Perils of Writing about the Power of the Church

Writing about the empowered and the powerless within the Roman Catholic Church has changed Doug Letson's life. He has met some of the major figures within the Catholic hierarchy, including Joseph Ratzinger, and some of the hierarchy’s most thoughtful critics, including Ernesto Cardenal. Those experiences, he writes, have sometimes been unsettling, sometimes amusing, and always enriching. He discusses his latest book, Power and Peril.
