In 1964, Canadian Jean Vanier, with the support of his spiritual director Father Thomas Philippe, invited two developmentally challenged men, Raphael Simi and Philippe Seux, to live with him in an old house in the French village of Trosly-Breuil. He named the house L'Arche after Noah's Ark. L’Arche is now an international federation of more than 70 communities in nearly 30 countries. Jean Vanier will talk about how living with and for others—especially the weak and the poor—transforms us and allows us to become more human. Special lecture for youth, high school and university students on Tuesday December 4, at 7:30 am in Siegfried Hall at St. Jerome's University. For more on l’Arche Canada, see www.larche.ca
