The Second Vatican Council called for the restoration of the Liturgy of the Hours as a prayer of the People of God. Even 20 years later, this mandate has received little implementation. Is the conciliar hope merely a pious wish? Can this prayer form be relevant to 20th century Christians? Through a theological and historical focus, various principles concerning Christian corporate prayer can be discerned. Participants will be able to develop a framework for answering the above questions and work towards the corporate experience of the Lord dying and rising among his people.
