Father Choate prsents his personal record of a trip to Nicaragua in May, 1985. In this travelogue covering his visits to the cities of Managua, Masaya, Grenada and neighbouring country sides, he provides an interpretation of pre- and post-revolution Nicaragua with an emphasis on the plight of the poor.

A Roman Catholic priest, Father Choate has been President of the University of St. Jerome’s College since 1979. A former university chaplain, he currently lectures in sociology at St. Jerome’s and is a member of the editorial board of "Grail: an Ecumenical Journal". The written record of his Nicaraguan journey will be published in the December issue of "Grail".
