Woodland Cultural Centre Tour of Mohawk Institute Residential School

St. Jerome's University invites members of the community to attend the Woodland Cultural Centre's virtual tour of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School, taking place on March 3rd. Learn more about this important part of Canada’s history in our local context by joining us for this event. Everyone welcome!

 

The tour will be 60 minutes followed by 30 minutes of questions/answers with the Woodland Cultural Centre staff. Participants may attend online. The in person viewing party has been cancelled due to anticipated inclement weather today. 

 

Soirées Ciné - France

St. Jerome's University's Department of Italian and French Studies is pleased to present the next film in the complimentary Soirées Ciné series. France is being presented on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the SJ2/Academic Centre, Room 2003. The comedic film is a story about a celebrity journalist, juggling her busy career and personal life, who has her life over-turned by a freak car accident.

Soirées Ciné - Un homme à la hauteur

St. Jerome's University's Department of Italian and French Studies is pleased to present the next film in the complimentary Soirées Ciné series. Un homme à la hauteur (Up for Love) is being presented on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the SJ2/Academic Centre, Room 2003. The comedic film is a story about a lawyer dating a dashing, wealthy architect four and a half feet tall, who gets ribbed by her family, employees and jealous ex about his stature. Featuring Jean Dujardin.

Medieval Intellectual History in the Digital Age

St. Jerome's University's DRAGEN Lab is pleased to partner with the University of Waterloo (UW) to support the next lecture in the 2023 Medieval Lecture Series. Professor Chris L. Nighman, from Wilfred Laurier University, will be speaking on February 15, 2023 about "Medieval Intellectual History in the Digital Age: Mapping the Medieval Mentalité Through the Janus Intertextuality Search Engine".

Celebration of Christian Unity

Students of all faiths are welcome to join St. Jerome's University's Campus Ministry as we celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity with prayer, conversation, and dinner on Wednesday, January 25 at 4:00 p.m. 


We will meet at St. Jerome's Notre Dame Chapel (SJ1) at 4:00 p.m. for introductions, and then walk to Conrad Grebel University College to participate in their weekly interdenominational chapel service. A panel of chaplains will also share their experiences of faith before we return to St. Jerome's for dinner (vegetarian pasta) and conversation.
