Rev. James Donohue, C.R. receives the Fr. Norm Choate, C.R. Award

St. Jerome’s University (SJU) is pleased to announce that Rev. James (Jim) Donohue, C.R., PhD (BA ’78), is the recipient of this year’s Fr. Norm Choate, C.R. Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. The award is presented annually at the University’s Graduation Ceremony and recognizes an alum who has demonstrated extraordinary accomplishment in their professional and community life. St. Jerome's University Raises the Pride Flag

Today, St. Jerome’s University has once again raised the Pride flag. Since 2020 this has been an annual celebration of our community’s embrace of a commitment to inclusion, and an important expression of our mission which is fundamentally about the dignity of all people.
 
In addressing the challenges of our times, Pope Francis often refers to the importance of “dialogue and encounter” as a critical first step. He understands that in relating to others we begin to fully realize our human potential. This idea is beautifully expressed in the words of Gaudium et spes:

United College and St. Jerome's University Initiate Library Collection Partnership

The university colleges at the University of Waterloo have a deep history of collaboration and offer a rich tradition of social connection and community in support of students as they progress on their academic journeys.  

 

In an example of the type of partnership the university colleges are known for, staff, faculty, alum, and students from United College and St. Jerome’s University came together on May 3, 2023, to officially launch an exciting new academic collaboration.  

 

2022 Betty G. Headley Senior Essay Award Winners Announced

St. Jerome’s University (SJU) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2022 Betty G. Headley Senior Essay Award. The annual competition honours the memory of the mother of SJU graduate Sara Elizabeth “Sally” Headley, BA ’04 (English Language and Literature). The award features essays written by upper-year undergraduate students that are distinguished by their eloquence, originality, and persuasive power.
