June 1st at 1:00 p.m. is the deadline for submissions to St. Jerome’s University (SJU)'s Betty G. Headley Senior Essay Award. The annual competition, which was established in memory of the mother of SJU graduate Sara Elizabeth “Sally” Headley (BA ’04), recognizes essays that are distinguished by their eloquence, originality, and persuasive power. Essays written for a third- or fourth-year course taught at SJU, or the University of Waterloo or one of its affiliated institutions, or personal essays on any topic, may be submitted for review by a Selection Committee.
St. Jerome's University's Students' Union hosts the 8th Annual Green and Gold Gala ONLINE on Friday, May 7th, 6:00 p.m. The annual event, which includes a dinner, social, and awards ceremony, is held to recognize exceptional student leadership and to celebrate the SJU community. Due to the pandemic, the event is going online this year with the theme "Arcade Adventure". Registration is free, but guests must register in advance to participate.

As part of its governance responsibilities, every five years the university goes through a strategic planning process to review and define its mission, values and goals; establish priorities as an institution; and map out how they will be achieved. As part of Phase 1’s consultative process, key stakeholders in the community are invited to register and participate in online focus group conversations.
The Medieval Digital Research in Arts and Graphical Environmental Networks (DRAGEN) laboratory, is offering ten $900 scholarship opportunities for students to immerse themselves online in history this summer. The scholarships are being offered to students registered for Queen’s University’s Bader International Study Centre’s (BISC) six week “Archaeology with the Castle Online” field school, taking place May 10-June 17, 2021.
