University of Waterloo Launches COVID-19 Hotline
The University of Waterloo (UW) has launched a COVID-19 hotline – 1-833-UW-COV19 (1-833-892-6819), available to its students and employees that have tested positive for the virus. The phone line is managed by dedicated nursing staff who will be available to answer questions and guide callers through any necessary next steps. It is available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The hotline is UW's latest measure in its COVID-19 response and will help the campus community quickly access accurate health information and support. A web form is also being launched today for those who would rather submit their questions or report their COVID-19 case online, or who have an enquiry outside of the hotline’s hours of availability.
UW students who have tested positive for COVID-19 can call the new hotline for information and support. If a student discloses to you that they have tested positive for COVID-19, you can now direct them to this phone number, eliminating the need to directly inform the University medical director or associate provost, students. The COVID-19 hotline will also act as a central point of contact to coordinate UW’s management of suspected and confirmed student cases of COVID-19.
UW employees can call the COVID-19 hotline, but are required to continue to make the Occupational Health their first point of contact to report an employee case of COVID-19.
