The following note was received from Glen Lombard, SJU Residence Manager:
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the various Haiti relief fundraisers that
have been going on at SJU since the beginning of February.
The loose change drive for Development and Peace raised $567.20, which
qualified for the Canadian Government's dollar-for-dollar matching program.
In addition, Friday February 26 signaled the end of our Haitian relief kit
donation program. In all, there were over 200 kilograms of goods donated by
our very generous community. A special thank you is owed to the University
Catholic Community for their very generous contributions. More than half of
the total donations were contributed by the UCC.
Haitian relief kit items were delivered to the Mennonite Central Committee
on Friday afternoon (see attached pictures).
Thank you also to Rebecca Amadei, Martha Fauteux, Amanda Grobbecker, Sarah
Mounsteven-Bertling and Elyse Redden for their efforts in organizing these
very successful campaigns.
